About Us

Bear Creek Ranch is named for a creek that provided life to the farming community here in southeastern Collin County. In recent past, the ranch was named the Silver Bar Ranch, and in its colorful history hosted country music legend George Strait in a private concert. The Foust family is proud to have preserved the barn and ranch buildings for the enjoyment of celebrations only limited to ones imagination. We are conveniently located between Lake Ray Hubbard and Lake Lavon. You will enjoy the lake breezes and the countryside. Our family hopes you will visit and create one of life’s special memories.

Mel Foust is the Owner/Director of Bear Creek Ranch Event Center. Mel is a true entrepreneur and family man. When he had an opportunity to buy Bear Creek Ranch in 2013, he saw a vision. A vision that would not only help his friends and family but the entire community! Working hard along the way, he constantly strives to make BCR the best affordable wedding venue in the area! Mel has a background in sales, with a degree from the University of North Texas. Many people instantly feel a personal connection with Mel when they meet him. He is always having a good time and smiling with customers!
